Hello and welcome to the coaching section of Dorking RFC

Coaching is one of the most crucial factors in developing, sustaining and increasing participation in rugby union, securing the future and quality of the game.

Anybody can try and coach rugby, but to be an effective coach, you will need to fulfil a number of different roles and accept a variety of responsibilities, covering the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects demanded by our game, so here at Dorking RFC we are actively promoting that all coaches are qualified, regularly attend CPD courses and hold a current coach license.  Each of our Youth and Mini Age groups must have the correct proportion of qualified coaches.  Our Coaching pathway for our coaches can be found across the page in the sidebar If you are a qualified coach or someone who is not qualified but want to get involved in coaching at Dorking RFC, or if you are already involved in coaching and want to develop/ progress please contact Gez Slann (Club Coaching Coordinator) for more information.

There are two types of coaching courses available; Award Courses and Non-Award Courses. To take part in most of the courses below there are several on-line line courses required.  And we suggest that all coaches look at these before applying to the courses.
